Welcome!

This is the website of Simon Strasser. On these pages I try to summarize some of my background and interests. I hope you find it useful, or maybe at least mildly interesting.

Since December 2009 I live in Sudbury, Ontario, which of course is in Canada. I work at Science North as a staff scientist. It's an awesome place and if you get a chance you should definitely come and visit! My background is in astronomy (PhD from the University of Minnesota in 2006) and so I am responsible for the space place at Science North. I also have my bachelor of Education (University of Western Ontario, 2009).

I love the outdoors, and hope to explore many places during my life. Maybe scuba diving, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, skiing, or some other way... I am also very interested in cultural stuff - from mythology, to music, literature etc. Some of the most unforgettable places I've visited are Notre Dame de Paris, the Alhambra in Granada, Algonquin Park, the Black Hills, and many more!

I have a blog where I make the occational post, and a facebook profile as well. To reach me you can email me at sstrasse-at-aim.com. A neat project I've been working on for a while is my genealogy (family tree).
